Shavaiz Malik, PT, MScPT
Shavaiz Malik is a graduate of the Master’s in Physical Therapy Program at the University of Toronto. His specialty involves assessing and treating musculoskeletal injuries, including but not limited to lower back pain, shoulder impingements, rotator cuff strains and workplace related injuries.
Shavaiz constructs his treatment plans to be specifically tailored to the client’s goals (short term and long term). He uses a combination of soft tissue mobilization techniques, combined with education, corrective exercises and movement training to get his clients moving sooner, so that they can reach their specific goals faster! He is passionate about pursuing further education and certifications for the McKenzie method, Mulligan treatment techniques and dry-needling.
Shavaiz’s hobbies include long hikes and trail running, and he considers himself a nature lover. His training focuses on strength and conditioning through powerlifting movements. He also enjoys listening to Physiotherapy related podcasts, reading philosophical literature and cooking a medium-rare steak on the weekends. His favourite all-time movie is ‘The Mummy’ – and has probably watched it 1000 times!
Dr. Philip Ip, DC
Chiropractor and Acupuncture Provider
Dr. Philip Ip graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (2013) with a Doctorate of Chiropractic and McMaster University (2008) with a Bachelor of Medical Radiation Sciences. He has experience working in a multidisciplinary setting, providing inter professional care amongst family physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, massage therapists and other healthcare professionals. He has treated a variety of clients over the years with conditions such a sport injuries, disc injuries, postural conditions, post-surgical rehabilitation, etc.
Philip uses a variety of skills and techniques to deliver effective and efficient treatment plans, including but not limited to: diversified chiropractic adjustments, manual therapy techniques, active rehabilitation, clinical acupuncture, mobility work, etc. He educates each client and works with them to achieve their overall health and wellness goals, allowing them to be at their very best.
During his spare time, Philip continues to be an advocate of health. He enjoys going to the gym, rock climbing, cycling and sleep because as we know, sleep is one of the most important necessities for our health and often gets taken for granted!
Dr. Rebecca Kang HBSc, DC,
Chiropractor and Acupuncture Provider
Dr. Rebecca Kang graduated Cum Laude from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She has worked closely with family physicians, rheumatologists, physiotherapists, massage therapists, Clinical Science and Sports Sciences Fellows, and various other health care professionals to provide the best care for her patients. She has been certified in clinical acupuncture and mental health first aid. She provides evidence-based care and utilizes various techniques including adjustments, soft tissue therapy, rehabilitation, and acupuncture.
Dr. Kang has worked in a community centered clinic as well as at St. Michael’s Hospital; she has experience in treating a variety of conditions and patients ranging from musculoskeletal conditions, post-operative rehabilitation, pregnancy related musculoskeletal complaints, and geriatric patients. She strives to provide patient centred care through her skills in manual therapy, rehabilitation, modalities, and patient education. As an advocate of health Dr. Kang is dedicated to help her patients live the most functional life as possible.
Dr. Kang’s associations include: The College of Chiropractors of Ontario, the Ontario Chiropractic Association, and the Canadian Chiropractic Association. She is fluent in English and Korean.
Felix Chu DC,
Chiropractor and Acupuncture Provider
Dr. Felix Chu is a licensed chiropractor, medical acupuncture provider, and muscle release therapist. Prior to completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, he received his Bachelor of Social Work degree from Ryerson University, where he discovered his passion for empowering others and enhancing their overall well-being. His mission is to create a positive impact on people’s lives by helping them become healthier and better versions of themselves.
Dr. Chu enjoys meeting and serving people from all walks of life, whether you’re a high-level athlete experiencing a sports-related injury, a working professional who’s suffering from bodily aches and pain from the office, or just someone who wants to become healthier by improving their mobility and function. He strives to help his patients alleviate their physical complaints, so they can focus more on what’s important to them in their daily lives.
Dr. Chu specializes in spine and joint manual therapy, medical acupuncture, and muscle release therapy. He prides himself in providing patient-centred care for his patients. This involves creating a treatment program that is individually tailored towards his patients’ needs, preferences, and values. His foundation as a registered social worker allows him to understand his patients’ challenges through a holistic perspective by recognizing not only physical obstacles, but also emotional and psychological hurdles. This integrative viewpoint enables him to better help his patients achieve optimal health and a higher quality of life.
In his free time, you can find him playing badminton at the local racquet club, looking through cookbooks for the best recipes, or taking his dog Charlie out for a walk around the neighborhood.
Registered Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer & Yoga Instructor
Keith is a Registered Massage Therapist and graduated from ICT Kikkawa College in 2018. His passion for improving the his understanding how the body moves initially began when he received his Yoga Instructor Certification in the spring of 2016 while travelling through South and Central America.
Keith’s approach to massage therapy can be attributed to his long-burning passion for all things health and fitness. This passion is second only to his simple desire to help people, which is why he was lead him to getting his Personal Training and Fascial Stretch Therapy Certification in the winter of 2019. His deep-tissue approach paired with his patience in allowing the body to heal and grow merge well with his yogic teachings in a way that allows him to aim for more than just relief with his treatments, but remedies and results.
Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
Starry is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Waterloo. Starry has 6 years of experience working overseas, in Hong Kong, as a lead massage therapist at the highly respected Sutherland-Chan Massage Centre. In her free time, she likes travelling and various forms of exercise. She is fluent in English and Cantonese.
Starry’s arsenal of massage techniques and treatments includes Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, sports massage, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage massage, and prenatal/postnatal.

Eric Miraflor is a Registered Massage Therapist and graduated from Humber College in 2018. His academic career has provided him the experience of delivering safe and effective treatments to a variety of special populations ranging from: pregnancy, mental/health addictions, complex health conditions and athletes. Eric is a good standing member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).
Eric’s treatment approach is to combine both manual and movement-based therapy with empowerment of the patient through education. His active lifestyle and history competing in powerlifting, olympic weightlifting, basketball and rugby has provided him the skills and experience to treat the athletic population.
Eric excels at utilizing a collaborative approach by combining patient goals and preferences and his professional expertise in delivering a safe and effective individualized treatment. This integrative approach allows Eric to provide the highest quality of care.
Lydia Hou, R. Ac
Lydia Hou has been a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner since 1984 after receiving her degree in China. Since then, she has practiced TCM in both hospital and clinic settings in China, the United States, and Canada. She holds certifications from various regulatory bodies, including R.Ac Ontario, R.Ac Alberta, Certified and Designated Diplomat in Acupuncture and TCM by the UN National Certification and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and Certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist by the California Medial Board. She earned the title of “senior TCM physician” in China with her extensive years of experience.
She is committed to continuous professional development and using the latest and best technologies and techniques for her patients to achieve the maximum benefit. Recently, she has started using the FSN needling technique to treat musculo-skeletal pain with very good results after 1-3 treatments.
Lydia is a published author of articles on mind and body wellness in scientific public health journals in China. She has a special interest in the relationship between mental and physical health. Lydia offers treatments for pain, arthritis, sports injuries, nervous system conditions, Raynaud’s Syndrome, IBS, stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, headaches, fatigue, infertility, hormonal imbalances, weight control, immune function, post chemo/radiation recovery, and much more.
Ohood Alharbi MScFN, PhD
Ohood is the founder of Personalize My Diet, an online nutrition clinic specialized in nutrigenomics and personalized diet. She completed her undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratories specializing in microbiology and genetics. She was awarded her Master’s degree in Food and Nutritional Sciences in 2012 and her PhD in nutrigenomics (aka how to eat according to your genes) in 2018. During her PhD, Ohood also completed Independent-Dietetic Practicum training in different settings including Nurse Practitioner community clinic, Retirement community and long-term care, as well as home care. Ohood, however, is not practicing as a dietitian.
Ohood has been a public speaker since 2010. She has spoken for multiple organizations including the Canadian Cancer Society for four years, private corporations, and also at workshops and international scientific conferences. She has been invited for talks by different organizations and societies including the Arab Student Association at the University of Western Ontario. She has also volunteered with The Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto providing Hands-on Science presentations in schools to grades 1 – 12.
Ohood’s publication on Lactose Intolerance was featured on CTV news, and her business was featured in Start-Up Here Toronto. She is a reviewer for PEN: Practice-based Evidence in Nutrition; a powerful database delivering evidence-based answers to health professionals, as well as for various scientific journals such as Advances in Nutrition: An International Review Journal, Current Developments in Nutrition, and others.
In her free time, Ohood spends her time at the gym basement lifting weights or at the top of the mountain climbing and hiking.
Janet has over 8 years of experience in the customer service industry. With a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, she reads, reviews and blogs in her free time. She loves cooking and gardening, and has a passion for dogs!
